Soft, Moldable, Fun Moon Sand
I have the solution to those days where it is too cold and/or rainy to be outside and you are about to pull all your hair out. MOON SAND!

Just be prepared for the cleanup when you are done.
Each of my kids make their own batch of moon sand, which was a lot of flour.
Anyone out there who are panicking over the ripped open bag of flour, don’t worry we used some and the rest went into the smaller storage container. The bag didn’t make it past that project.
I cannot get over how soft this stuff is, it also smelled really good from the baby oil. It did however make a mess.

Ingredients
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine flour and baby oil. Mix well being careful not to spill.
I used my hands to mix, it seemed to work significantly better than the spoon.
Next, I dug out some of our extra large cookie sheets and placed the moon sand on top of that. This was to help keep the sand relatively in one spot and not on the floor.
Once you are done playing, you can put the sand in a Ziplock bag to keep it from drying out.
My kids loved this stuff, we did realize it makes a big difference in the texture based on flour and oil. When you have 3 small children measuring the ratio is NEVER the same. Make sure you have enough oil that the sand sticks well.
We tried to add a little food coloring at the kids request…this does not work. If you had an oil-based food coloring but the normal ones just left a few small speckles in the moon sand, which was ok too.
This made for the perfect morning activity when it was too wet to go outside.
